Voyager Summer Camp 2013
We are excited to offer another year of summer camp!
It is open to children entering kindergarten – age 8.
Our summer camp is designed as a first camp experience, where children engage in fun summer activities, reconnect with old friends, and make new friends. Lots of outdoor adventures, water play, picnics, nature walks, and field trips.
Voyage Choices
Week 1: 6/17
Wood working
Create and explore with wood in exciting and interesting ways! A master carpenter will join our staff and show the children what amazing things you can do with wood! Children will take home a project.
Weeks: 2 : 6/24 and Week 8: 8/5
Cooking with Kristy x2
Join our lunch bunch. Children will spend the morning working with our resident chef, Kristy Sargent making several dishes. Children will then set the tables and share their dishes at a family style lunch.
There will be an additional fee of $20/child per week. To cover the cost of food.
Week 3: 7/8
Under the Big Top
If you joined the circus would you be an animal trainer, walk on the high wire or just clown around? Campers will use costumes and make-up to plan their own circus. This camp will include a field trip to Regal Gymnastics.
Week 4: 7/15
Art in Nature
Join our Art teacher, Amy Tewksbury and get creative with nature! Dig, uncover, explore and be inspired by the world around us. We will use materials that we find in nature along with traditional art materials to create art projects. Drawing inspiration from famous artists like Georgia O’Keefe and Beatrix Potter, we will create our own masterpieces!
Week 5: 7/22
Wild Things
We will learn about the animals, birds and bees that are indigenous to Vermont. Grab your binoculars and cameras as we find out more about the living things right around us. This camp will include a field trip to Audubon Vermont in Huntington.
Week 6: 7/29
Bodies in Motion
Get moving. What can your body do? How fast can you run? How high can you jump? Dance , Yoga, & Soccer. This camp will culminate in a field trip to Regal Gymnastics
Week 7: 8/12
Lotions, Potions, and Slime
Mad professors unite. If you like messes this camp is for you. We will use Nancy Blakey’s book, Lotions, Potions and Slime as a jumping off point to come up with concoctions like electric jello, feel good foot paint, and crash cookies.
Week 9: 8/19
Heros are Super
If you love Super Heroes this camp is for you. We will compare and contrast the difference between comic book heroes and real life heroes.
We will be closed the week of July 1-5
Enrollment Information
Camp Fees
There is a $150 non-refundable deposit due with enrollment form; the deposit will be applied to camp tuition. Each camp is $225/wk. If you sign up for more than 5 weeks of camp, after the 5th week, tuition drops to $200/wk. You must choose a minimum of two camps.
Slots will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Please be advised that some camps fill quickly.
The balance will be due by: June 1, 2013
