For Parents

Act 166 Universal Preschool

The Charlotte Children’s Center is approved as a Prequalified Prekindergarten Education Program through the Vermont Agency of Education effective until March 12, 2018.

This certification demonstrates our commitment to providing quality early education for Vermont’s children. As an approved prequalified prekindergarten education program the Center partners with local school districts to provide 10 hours a week for 35 weeks of tuition free prekindergarten education for children three to five years old.

The Center currently partners with Chittenden South Supervisory Union (CSSU), Addison Northwest Supervisory Union (ANWSU) and Addison Northeast Supervisory Union (ANESU). This means that children who are three years old by September 1 and live in any of the three school districts above are eligible for publicly funded prekindergarten education.

Currently each school district has a different process for enrolling students in publicly funded preschool:

Families who live in the CSSU may obtain a Publicly Funded Prekindergarten Program application by calling Wendy Clark at 802-383-1234 or by calling the Center at 802-425 3328.

Families who live in the ANESU should visit ANE Early Education Parent Resources webpage for information on how to enroll for preschool funding or call Meg Baker at 802-453-6963

Families who live in the ANWSU should call Meg Baker at 802-453-6963 or call the Center at 802-425-3328

Please note that being approved for preschool funding does not automatically give your child a space in the Center. A separate waitlist/application form must be submitted to the Center.
